Community Outreach Committee

Members focus on supporting and creating programs and events that will unite the community and enrich our neighborhoods. Also, committee members with seek, interview, train and coordinate volunteers. The Outreach Committee oversees the Youth Leadership Board of the United Way and its events as well. 

The main goals of this committee are to increase volunteerism and to increase the awareness of the United Way’s active participation in the community, not just a funding source.   

Community Building Committee

Members of the Community Building Committee review grant applications and determine how United Way dollars are allocated. Committee members are also responsible for following-up with funded agencies to ensure that all allocated funds are accounted for.

Finance Committee

Finance committee members record and evaluate employee salaries and benefits, accounts payable, account receivable, and all donations including campaign funds

Communications/Marketing Committee

Committee members create marketing strategies to promote United Way of Blair County events and programs. Main objective is to maintain visibility within the communities served in a cost effective and efficient manner. 

Executive Committee

Executive Committee members are responsible for the acquiring/dismissing of United Way of Blair County staff, AmeriCorp VISTA members. Committee members are charged with making important decisions in according with the mission of the United Way of America. There is a special focus on accountability, guidance and support for the director and staff of this organization.
