The 24th Annual Day of Caring is fast approaching and will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. The United Way of Blair County’s Annual Day of Caring brings the community and businesses together through volunteerism to meet needs in Blair County. Last year, about 300 volunteers donated their time and effort to help over 33 local agencies during our Annual Day of Caring event.
The Day of Caring is a great opportunity for non-profit agencies to utilize volunteer resources to benefit their organizations. In an age where non-profit organizations are heavily relied upon to fill the needs of the community, volunteers lending a little elbow grease is often as crucial as a monetary contribution. Project requests are currently being accepted. To submit a project request, please follow this link: https://goo.gl/forms/rYpjiXROJCKVi5qE3. Projects in the past have included outdoor work such as landscaping and gardening, indoor jobs such as painting and cleaning, and assisting the people you serve with activities or events. This day is a time for volunteers from all areas to come together to Live United and to make a difference for agencies in our community.
Volunteers are also able to sign up now to participate in the Day of Caring. To do so, please click VOLUNTEER now and look for Day of Caring.
