Spring has begun and the United Way of Blair County has some exciting community events coming up. In April, 10K Hours Show volunteers will see the fruits of their labor when they finally earn admission to a free Bayside performance.
The 10k Hours Show, produced by in2it productions, is set to take place at the Altoona High School on April 26th at 7:30pm. “This show is a great hybrid of doing what we do best while benefiting our community. In my mind this is one of the most rewarding projects we have worked on recently-throwing a rock show to thank our youth for their overwhelming spirit of volunteerism.”, said Scott Stuttard, President/COO of in2it productions.
There are 10K Hours Shows going on all over the country, throughout the year and the United Way of Blair County is proud to join the national effort to get young people involved in the their communities. Local High School and College Students who have not yet registered as volunteers can do so at in2it.com or call the United Way of Blair County at (814)944-0884.
Local participating schools include: Altoona Area High School, Bellwood-Antis High School, Bishop Guilfoyle High School, Central High School, Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School, Penn State Altoona, Tyrone Area High School, and Williamsburg Community High School.
Special thanks to 10k hours show sponsors Operation Our Town, United Way of Blair County Youth Leadership Board, Altoona Curve Baseball, Blair County Communities That Care, Penn State Altoona, Sheetz, and The Hite Company.
Thanks also to all of the 10K Show volunteers who will not only be rewarded for their service with a concert, but also with the satisfaction of knowing that they gave back to their community. The United Way of Blair County invites you to get involved in your community, guaranteeing a brighter future for us all.
